If you missed the sign ups for the Men’s Basketball League but wish to play, please call Carl Herde, 491-1021, Jim Thorne, 261-7424 or Dink Hortsman, 479-9859 ASAP. You must be a registered member of the parish and at least 32 years old as of Feb 1, 2008. Fee is $50. (Open gym will be held the 1st three Sundays in November from 7:00 to 9:00).

Basketball Signups

It’s that time of year again. Basketball signups for boys and girls grades 3 through 8.

October 15th and 16th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the vestibule of the gym.

If you have a uniform from last year, please bring your number.

Coaches needed at all levels.

Sign-ups received after October 29th may not be accepted.

Oscar Brohm speaks at A.Men club Father-Son breakfast

On April 29, Oscar Brohm was the guest speaker at the annual Father-Son breakfast at Ascension, sponsored by A.Men, the Ascension Men's club.

An excellent crowd enjoyed the good food and the speaker. Oscar gave an entertaining talk, featuring the childhood (and adult) antics of his three sons, Greg, Jeff, and Brian. He gave a important message about fathers spending time with their sons, whether in sports or not. He encouraged the sons to be willing to spend time with their fathers, as it may not sound like it, but it could even be fun!

Oscar brought along some memorabilia from each of the boys, and they all were available for autographs afterwards. Safe Environment Program Training

For any coaches or school volunteers who have not attended the Safe Environment Program, the Archdiocese is bringing the program to St Pius in the Community Center (gym) on February 10 at 10:00 am. No registration is required.
