The Sacrament of Baptism, for infants and children up to age nine, is celebrated five times a year, at our regular Sunday liturgies. Parents are required to attend a preparation class on the theology and symbols of baptism prior to celebrating the sacrament. Please call the parish office for baptism dates as well as a schedule of baptism classes.

The Sacrament of First Communion is celebrated in the spring. This sacrament is usually celebrated in the second grade, but is open to older children who have not previously received the sacrament. Preparation is done in the school or religious education program. Please call the parish office for more details.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in the eighth grade, with the Confirmation date being determined by the Archbishop’s office. Preparation is done in the school or religious education program, as well as, with our Youth Minister. For more information please call the parish office.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is usually celebrated in the fourth grade but on request of parents, it can be celebrated earlier. Preparation is done in the school or Religious Education Program. Please call the parish office for more information.

The Sacrament of Marriage is a joyful time in people’s lives and we rejoice with you. Ascension follows the Archdiocesan guidelines that require you to contact the priest or deacon for preparation at least six months prior to your anticipated marriage date. Please call the priest or deacon to begin the preparation process.

The Sacrament of the Sick is celebrated communally two times a year. If your are facing an illness, or surgery and would like to be anointed please call the parish and Father will be happy to celebrate the sacrament with you, either in church, your home or the hospital.

The RCIA, (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults), is a process by which people, baptized or non-baptized, who feel the Holy Spirit is calling them to explore the possibility of becoming Catholic, are given the opportunity to look at our faith and discern the Spirit’s call. Please call the parish office for more details.
