The
Sacrament of Baptism, for infants and children
up to age nine, is celebrated five times a year, at our
regular Sunday liturgies. Parents are required to attend
a preparation class on the theology and symbols of baptism
prior to celebrating the sacrament. Please call the parish
office for baptism dates as well as a schedule of baptism
classes.
The
Sacrament of First Communion is celebrated
in the spring. This sacrament is usually celebrated in
the second grade, but is open to older children who have
not previously received the sacrament. Preparation is
done in the school or religious education program. Please

The
Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated
in the eighth grade, with the Confirmation date being
determined by the Archbishop’s office. Preparation
is done in the school or religious education program,
as well as, with our Youth Minister. For more information

The
Sacrament of Reconciliation is usually
celebrated in the fourth grade but on request of parents,
it can be celebrated earlier. Preparation is done in
the school or Religious Education Program. Please call
the parish office for more information.
The
Sacrament of Marriage is a joyful time
in people’s lives and we rejoice with you. Ascension
follows the Archdiocesan guidelines that require you
to contact the priest or deacon for preparation at least
six months prior to your anticipated marriage date.
Please call the priest or deacon to begin the preparation
process.
The
Sacrament of the Sick is celebrated communally
two times a year. If your are facing an illness, or
surgery and would like to be anointed please call the
parish and Father will be happy to celebrate the sacrament
with you, either in church, your home or the hospital.
The
RCIA, (Rite of Christian Initiation of
Adults), is a process by which people, baptized or non-baptized,
who feel the Holy Spirit is calling them to explore
the possibility of becoming Catholic, are given the
opportunity to look at our faith and discern the Spirit’s
