ASCENSION SWIM TEAM SIGN-UPS
Many of you have already inquired expressing interest in the Ascension Swim Team. If you have not expressed interest, now is your chance to swim for Ascension’s Swim Team. You need to go to GameDay and register now at: https://gameday.loucsaa.net/. There is more information below regarding practices and the swim meet date. Please make sure you note these dates.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL
This third week of Advent, we light the pink candle as a sign of hope in Jesus and his coming. It also reminds us of the joy the world experienced at the birth of Jesus.
Step into our school at this time of year and you will undoubtedly witness the joy of our students, faculty and staff. Their well-deserved break is very near; gifts and cheerfulness are abundant. However, this week, I am asking our students, faculty and staff to remain focused on Christ, in the midst of the hectic nature of the season. This week, it is important for us to reflect on the true reason we are so excited, buying gifts, writing cards, simply being more joyous overall. That true reason is because we are growing more aware that our celebration is all because of the birth of Christ.
Our grades 3-5 students will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation following our school Mass on Wednesday. Advent is the perfect time to ask for the forgiveness which will allow us to be more open to receiving the joy of Christ in our lives.
It is important that we, as parents, keep Jesus at the center of Christmas in our homes through prayer and attending mass. As we enter the final weeks of Advent, may the approaching birth of Christ strengthen you and give you peace and joy.

Did you know that Ascension is a Box Tops school? During this challenging time, our teachers and students need more help than ever. No matter what school looks like, Box Tops for Education is a fast and easy way for you to help out from home.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Buy participating products and use the Box Tops mobile app to scan your store receipt. The app identifies eligible products and automatically adds Box Tops to your school’s earnings online. Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your e-receipts and earn Box Tops. Twice a year, our school gets a check!
The PTO uses money earned from Box Tops to fund our iPad program and other classroom needs for our students!

REMINDER
Student’s who are absent should be phoned in or emailed to Ms. Thomas by 8:15am. There is a 24 hour message system for you to phone in absences, 451-2535 ext. 22.
Also, it is very important that your child/ren arrive at school on time daily! Students should be in their class and chair by 7:55am. If your child is late, you must come in to sign them in. Thank you!
