“MARY IN CATHOLICISM AND ISLAM”
A devotional entitled “Mary in Catholicism and Islam” will be held on Sunday, December 9 from 3-4:15pm in church.
Presenters include Sister Kathryn Huber, OSB and Muslim theologian, Dr Riffat Hassan
Special music from both traditions will be provided.
2018 HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST
Saturday, December 8, 2018, 9:00am-12:30pm, at all Archdiocesan High Schools (students take the test at the high school they plan to attend).
Students need to bring two #2 pencils. There is no fee for the test!
In the event inclement weather or other emergency necessitates cancellation of the administration of the HSPT, the assessment will be rescheduled for Saturday, December 15, from 9:00am-12:30pm at all archdiocesan high schools.
The make-up HSPT is scheduled for Saturday, January 12, 2019 at all archdiocesan high schools.

DECEMBER 15 IS NATIONAL WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA DAY!
This is a day that Veterans are HONORED and REMEMBERED through the laying of wreaths on Veterans graves at National Cemeteries all across America. Our local Zachary Taylor National cemetery has over 3,000 Veteran graves. Of that 3,000, they receive ONLY 75-80 wreaths every year. If you would like to help make a change to that number, you can purchase a wreath for $15 through the following link: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/KY0115P!
**This link is very important because it will ensure that the wreath will be sent to our local Cemetery**
You can also send wreaths to Veteran families in addition to sending one to the cemetery.

LIVE NATIVITY
Ascension is hosting another outdoor Live Nativity on Sunday, December 9th; from 6:00-8:00p.m.; which actually follows the St. Regis Park neighborhood holiday event. The Nativity scene includes “live” characters (portrayed by students and parishioners) and a “real” Baby Jesus; along with little living animals. There will also be refreshments and Christmas carols sung inside. Please make plans to attend this popular “family-friendly” event and experience the joy of that first Christmas!

BOX TOPS COLLECTION
Our goal is to raise $2,000 in FREE money for our school! Neatly cut and collect unexpired box tops and send them into school on a collection sheet or in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name on it to the PTO mailbox located in the school office. Ask family, friends, and neighbors to save Box Tops for you! We will have two submission dates: October 15 and February 15. For each submission date, the class that brings in the most box tops will receive a popsicle party!

REMINDER
Student’s who are absent should be phoned in or emailed to Ms. Thomas by 8:30am. There is a 24 hour message system for you to phone in absences, 451-2535 ext. 18.
Also, it is very important that your child/ren arrive at school on time daily! Students should be in their class and chair by 7:55am. If your child is late, you must come in to sign them in. Thank you!
