FROM THE PRINCIPAL
A friend shared this prayer with me and it truly moved me – absolutely perfect as we enter into Holy Week. Recognizing we will be on spring break; I want to share this prayer with you while we continue our journey through the Lenten season awaiting His Resurrection!

“Jesus, we bring ourselves to you today, knowing that very soon, we will enter into our Church’s most sacred time, the celebration of your Paschal Mystery. We believe in your saving grace, Lord, and are here because you have called us to new life in you. We line the streets of Jerusalem, waving palms and rejoicing in your triumphant message of hope, love, and redemption. We keep watch with you in the garden where you will be betrayed and condemned to death. With compassion we wipe your face and walk with you to the cross, where you will be mocked and crucified. In sorrow, we look on from a distance as you are placed in the tomb. Lord, while we linger these remaining days on your suffering, help us to remember that many in our world continue to suffer without hope. So many still hunger and thirst for your peace. While many of us have found in you what sustains and nourishes us, what fills our wells and waters our fields, there are still many among us who are broken, afraid, who feel alone, and who need the gentle hands of human kindness. And so, it is with gratitude and humility that we thank you for these last days of Lent. May this be a time of letting go and opening ourselves to the promises and beauty of Resurrection at Easter, when we arrive at the tomb and find it empty. With rejoicing in our hearts made new, gather us around that glorious vigil fire, help us to be bold and courageous, give us the strength we need to share your water, light, and life with those who need it most.”

May God bless us all, keep us safe and Happy Easter!

APRIL IS CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH!
From the Archdiocese of Louisville:
“The Church is the body of Christ. All members are linked to one another, and all have the responsibility to ensure the safety of children in parishes, schools, families, and local communities. We can do this by:
1.Developing appropriate and loving relationships with our children.
2.Teaching our children safety and healthy boundaries.
3.Knowing who has access to our children.
4.Learning the warning signs of abuse.
5.Reporting abuse to the appropriate authorities.
For more information from the Archdiocese of Louisville about sexual abuse policies, safe environment programming, reporting, and other resources, see www.archlou.org/restoringtrust ”

BOX TOPS COLLECTION
Did you know that Ascension is a Box Tops school? During this challenging time, our teachers and students need more help than ever. No matter what school looks like, Box Tops for Education is a fast and easy way for you to help out from home.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Buy participating products and use the Box Tops mobile app to scan your store receipt. The app identifies eligible products and automatically adds Box Tops to your school’s earnings online. Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your e-receipts and earn Box Tops. Twice a year, our school gets a check!

The PTO uses money earned from Box Tops to fund our iPad program and other classroom needs for our students!

Here’s how YOU can help earn money for our school!
• DOWNLOAD the Box Tops app and select our school to support. This ensures that your Box Tops purchases count toward our school’s earnings.
• SHOP for Box Tops products and use the app to scan your receipt to add to our school’s earnings online.
• LOOK for any remaining Box Tops clips on packages. If you find some, clip them and send them to school!
• SPREAD THE WORD about Box Tops!
FUN TIP: You can also use the “Invite Friends” feature in the app to ask friends and family to help support our school!

Your earnings may seem small, but they really do add up. The more people that participate, the bigger the impact we can make. So let’s give our teachers the support they need and help give more kids the opportunity to dream. Little by little, we can help make a BIG difference.
