REGISTER YOUR CHILD NOW FOR THE LIVING ROSARY!
The Archdiocesan Marian Committee is grateful to offer the 71st Living Rosary with the Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary by none other than Archbishop Shelton Fabre! It will begin at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 23rd at St. Teresa’s Church (the old St. Jerome parish), 903 Fairdale Road, Fairdale, KY 40118. Youth in grades 1st-12th are encouraged to participate as “living” beads of the Rosary. They should plan on being there ½ hour prior to the beginning of the event. TRUNK OR TREAT
Please join us for a night of fun for Ascension’s Trunk or Treat starting at 6:30 on October 28th, including an All Saints Day activity. 8th grade will also be serving dinner to raise money for their Grand Canyon trip. Hope to see you there! Get creative and decorate your trunk for a chance to win a $50 gift card for best trunk and $25 for each boy and girl costume! Congratulations Ascension Longhorns! Final ticket count for EMS is 2501 tickets!!!! We raised $50,020 for our school!!! Thank you to everyone who sold a ticket!

CONGRATULATIONS!
At the CSAA Cross Country Championships, Kate Baines (Gr.2) won the girls 1000m race earning her the title of “City Champion”. Her time of 4 minutes and 12 seconds is an Ascenison school record.

Fellow 2nd grader, Jack Back, finished 5th in the boys 1000m race. Jack’s time of 4 minutes and 11 seconds also set a new Ascension school record.

OPEN HOUSE
Ascension Open House is just around the corner, October 25! If you have a home or business (preferably one with high traffic/visibility) and would be willing to have an Open House yard sign placed, please email Natalie Ising at kynat16@aol.com with the address. The signs would be placed approximately 1-2 weeks before and can be removed following the Open House.

TRIVIA NIGHT
Trivia night is quickly creeping up. Join the Ascension PTO for Fright Night: A Halloween Trivia Event. The event is Saturday, October 15th in the gym. Grab your table of 8 and purchase your tickets today on Eventbrite!

BOOK FAIR – OCT. 3 – 6
Open during conferences on Wednesday and Thursday!
The PTO has generously allocated the money for each student (K-8) to purchase a book from the Book Fair for $5.00 or less. Students in preschool will receive their PTO funds during the Spring book fair.

K-8 Only – Lunch reservations are closed but you can come sit with your child at lunch and then go to the book fair with them on  Tues., Oct. 4 or Wed., Oct. 5.

TUITION ASSISTANCE FOR 2023-2024
The tuition assistance application for 2023-2024 will open soon, on October 15, 2022. The deadline is November 30, 2022, for the first round of funding. Awards will be available on March 1, 2023, earlier than ever! The application will be online beginning October 15, 2022, www.ceflou.org. You must apply yearly for financial assistance. Did you know that Ascension is a Box Tops school? During this challenging time, our teachers and students need more help than ever. No matter what school looks like, Box Tops for Education is a fast and easy way for you to help out from home.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Buy participating products and use the Box Tops mobile app to scan your store receipt. The app identifies eligible products and automatically adds Box Tops to your school’s earnings online. Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your e-receipts and earn Box Tops. Twice a year, our school gets a check!

The PTO uses money earned from Box Tops to fund our iPad program and other classroom needs for our students!

REMINDER
Student’s who are absent should be phoned in or emailed to Ms. Thomas by 8:15am. There is a 24 hour message system for you to phone in absences, 451-2535 ext. 22.
Also, it is very important that your child/ren arrive at school on time daily! Students should be in their class and chair by 7:55am. If your child is late, you must come in to sign them in. Thank you!
