Parishioners,

At Ascension Catholic School, our mission is to develop Christian thought leaders, and throughout the past month our students and faculty have truly lived this mission through academic excellence, service, and faith.

We are proud to share outstanding results from our winter MAP testing. Our students achieved the highest scores we have seen since 2019 in both reading and mathematics, a reflection of their hard work, focus, and the dedication of our teachers. These results highlight the strong academic foundation being built each day in our classrooms.

During Catholic Schools Week, students participated in a meaningful Service Day. Several grade levels visited a local nursing home, served at the Cathedral, and assisted at a soup kitchen. These experiences provided opportunities for our students to put faith into action and serve others with compassion.

We extend sincere thanks to our amazing PTO for hosting a wonderful Adult Night Out enjoyed by many members of our community. A special thank you also goes to Mrs. Stettler, our art teacher, who worked with students to create beautiful artwork for the auction.

Our second trimester has now concluded, and we look forward to celebrating student achievements at our awards ceremony on March 18 following the school Mass.

We also celebrate our eighth-grade students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on March 5 in a beautiful ceremony. Please continue to keep these young men and women in your prayers as they grow in faith and leadership.

We are grateful to the Spears family for their extremely generous donation to our school. Their gift will support the purchase of iPads for our teachers and the replacement of computers in our lab, directly benefiting student learning.

We are also excited to share that enrollment for next school year continues to grow. Interest in Ascension Catholic School remains strong, and we are grateful that so many families want to be part of our community. We will continue to share updates as we move closer to August.

Finally, we ask you to please keep the Cahoe family in your prayers. Abby Cahoe, who served as a preschool teacher at Ascension for many years, passed away in late February. She leaves behind her husband Chad and their daughters, Collins (6th grade) and Callie Jo (3rd grade). We hold their family in our hearts during this difficult time.

Thank you for your continued support of Ascension Catholic School and for being part of our parish community.
