Any Arts Club
It has been a great year so far! We’ve decided that the final club meeting will be March 31, the Tuesday before Spring Break.
There won’t be any more art club meetings after Spring Break.
Thank you so much for your support this year, it’s been absolutely wild, the art they’ve created has been spectacular and sometimes ingenious.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Ascension Festival – Save the Date

We’ve begun preparations for the 2026 Ascension Summer Festival, a cherished tradition that brings our parish family and community together. Be on the lookout for ways you and your family can help. In the meantime, save the date for Friday and Saturday, May 29 and 30!

Raffle Booth

There are three ways to purchase your Raffle Booth Pre-Sale chances:

  1. Pick up a Raffle Booth PreSale Listing and order form in the back of the gathering space (look for the yellow sign)
  2. Visit our website http:// www.ascension-parish.com/ summer-festival

Looking for ways to support the Festival?

Do you know of any restaurants that will donate a gift card, or would you be willing to purchase a gift card and drop it off at the parish office by April 1st?

Another way to help with our Summer Festival is to make a cash donation. We will use the cash to purchase items for the booth, or do you know of a business that would be willing to donate items then that is great too!

If you would like to shop, below are just a few suggestions of items to purchase and donate.

Bottles of Bourbon or Wine, One Weekend Night Stay at a Hotel, Entertainment Gift Certificates (Malibu Jacks, Kingpin Lanes, Strike & Spare, Movie Theaters, Dave & Buster’s, Main Event), Foursome of Golf, Battery Powered Yard Tools, Electronics, Stroller Wagon.

Please help us make our 2026 Summer Festival successful!

The Summer Festival is monetary support for our parish and school community.

Please contact Karen Morris 262-7064, Carleen Herde 693-9697 or Anne Ewing 558-8435 if you have any questions.

CSAA 3-8th Soccer Registration is now open
Dear Ascension families.
The CSAA has changed 5th-8th grade soccer to be boys or girls only (No Co-Ed teams). 3/4th will remain Co-Ed.  Unfortunately, this means many players that wish to play soccer in the CSAA will have to merge with another school. The CSAA is helping to manage this transition, and more details will be provided when available. Please use Gameday to register your child under the proper category. Once numbers are determined, we will work with other schools to merge, if needed. 7/8th grade boys and 5th-8th girls’ registration is currently set to $0, but once team placement is determined, the final registration payment will be needed.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns to Nick Ising at nsisin01@yahoo.com

For Athletics, we are making it simple. All info is in “Band.”   We have 205 members!
So join us here https://band.us/n/a3abA9T6v5Udd
All coordinators are part of the app, and you can use the chat to communicate with them, as this is the main way the board communicates.
To keep the housekeeping Band is set in a way that only coordinators can start a post, but everyone can reply to the post started. Do not hesitate to ask questions there if you have any.
I recommend reviewing your settings for notifications so it does not send you alerts all day/night if that is not your thing. Here is how to Manage your Band notification : Tutorials | BAND

If you want to be more involved in sports, the Athletic Board is currently seeking interested individuals to serve in the following open positions:

– Boys basketball coordinator (3rd-8th)

– Track & Field Coordinator

– Gym Managers (All grades – This is a key role and only applies to help during home games of the different sports you like)

Please reach out with interest or any questions to: AscensionLonghornAthletics@gmail.com

SHAHEENS – SCHOOL UNIFORM
Shaheens has launched a new website to better serve our school and families. As a result, any existing links to our school’s uniform through Shaheens will no longer work. Here is Ascension’s updated link: https://www.shaheens.com/schools/ascension-louisville-ky

SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING
The Archdiocese requires all who volunteer or work with minors to have a background check done every five years (processed for free by the parish office). Also, an initial in-person Safe Environment Training must be completed (dates and locations available at www.archlou.org/safe). This training must be renewed every five years by doing a one-hour online course (ask parish office for the website).

If you volunteer or work around children at all, you must be up-to-date on these requirements. Please call the parish office if you have any questions.

If you are currently not up-to-date, you may continue in your work only if there are two other adults present who are up to date AND you are currently in the process of renewing your training and background check.

Anyone who is not currently volunteering but who might possibly volunteer in the future is welcome to go ahead and receive the initial in-person training. That way you wouldn’t have to scramble to do the training if you suddenly decided to volunteer for a youth event. Please submit the certificate you receive there to our parish secretary for her records.

Thank you so much for your service to our community and for your diligence in helping our parish be a responsible and safe place for our kids.

Sincerely,
Fr. Matthew

The schedule for safe environment training can be found here

BOX TOPS COLLECTION
Did you know that Ascension is a Box Tops school? During this challenging time, our teachers and students need more help than ever. No matter what school looks like, Box Tops for Education is a fast and easy way for you to help out from home.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Buy participating products and use the Box Tops mobile app to scan your store receipt. The app identifies eligible products and automatically adds Box Tops to your school’s earnings online. Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your e-receipts and earn Box Tops. Twice a year, our school gets a check!

The PTO uses money earned from Box Tops to fund our iPad program and other classroom needs for our students!

Here’s how YOU can help earn money for our school!
• DOWNLOAD the Box Tops app and select our school to support. This ensures that your Box Tops purchases count toward our school’s earnings.
• SHOP for Box Tops products and use the app to scan your receipt to add to our school’s earnings online.
• LOOK for any remaining Box Tops clips on packages. If you find some, clip them and send them to school!
• SPREAD THE WORD about Box Tops!
FUN TIP: You can also use the “Invite Friends” feature in the app to ask friends and family to help support our school!

Your earnings may seem small, but they really do add up. The more people that participate, the bigger the impact we can make. So let’s give our teachers the support they need and help give more kids the opportunity to dream. Little by little, we can help make a BIG difference.
